When Nothing Comes Up in EMDR: The Clinical Pack for Practitioners

"Nothing comes up." "I don't feel anything." "I must be doing it wrong."

Every EMDR practitioner hears these sentences. The reprocessing seems to stop, silence sets in, and doubt creeps in: is the target wrong? Is the patient resisting? Should we push forward?

This pack is based on a simple principle: in EMDR, "nothing" is often clinical material. "Nothing" is almost never a dead end. It is clinical information that indicates where to look and how to adjust, without forcing.

What the Pack Contains

Designed to be usable both in sessions and in supervision, it gathers four complementary, clear, simple, and directly actionable resources.

1. The Clinical Guide (16 pages). The core of the pack. Eight clinical hypotheses to decode "nothing" (target too vague, control, hypoarousal, dissociation, shame, protective part, access to the body, another more active target), with what to observe and how to adjust for each. Exploration questions, micro-adjustments, safety markers, and window of tolerance.

2. The Bonus "Ready-to-Use Phrasings" (9 pages). More than 100 in-session sentences organized by situation: normalizing blank space, reducing performance pressure, exploring "nothing", checking presence, working with a protective part, brief cognitive interweaves, returning to resources, closing without a sense of failure. With an "avoid / prefer" table and a mini-session script.

3. The Theoretical Appendix (10 pages). To give meaning to the block: the AIP model, the three conditions of reprocessing, under-accessibility and over-accessibility, dissociation, window of tolerance, and supervision markers. With an indicative bibliography.

4. The One-Page Checklist. The quick-reference guide to keep within reach: seven steps, from slowing down to the clinical decision, to print for the office.

Who is it for?

For EMDR practitioners, in training or experienced, who want to transform these moments of standstill into clinical levers. Also useful in supervision and peer consultation.

Format. 4 PDF files, approximately 36 pages in total, in French. Immediate download after purchase on Gumroad.

Promo code SLOWISFAST: 10% off the pack.

Also available in other languages:

The pack is also available in English, Spanish, and German:

  • EspañolCuando no surge nada en EMDR — el pack clínico para profesionales.Descargar el pack

  • DeutschWenn in EMDR nichts kommt — das klinische Paket für Behandelnde.Paket Herunterladen

An Important Note

These resources are practice aids. They do not replace certified EMDR training, supervision, or clinical assessment. In the presence of marked dissociation, complex trauma, or instability, caution and supervision remain the rule.

F.A.Q.

Is this an EMDR training course? No. These are practice resources, designed to supplement training and a supervision framework, not to replace them.

What practice level is this pack for? For practitioners already trained in EMDR, from beginners to certified. Beginners will find concrete markers, while experienced practitioners will find a troubleshooting and transmission tool.

Are the files printable? Yes. The checklist is designed to be printed and kept in the office. The other documents can also be printed without difficulty.

Will I receive updates? Yes. Any corrected or expanded version is made available to buyers via Gumroad.

Can I use it in supervision or peer consultation? Yes, for your professional practice. Please do not redistribute the files: share the product link.
